Scene 1
[We open the episode on Trudy, the camera is zoomned in closely on her face as we see her eyelids flutter, the camera pans out and we see that her bed has been covered with rose petals.]
(Trudy opens her eyelids and looks surprised.)
Trudy: Oh...
(Trudy picks up a handful of the petals and throws them in the air.)
Trudy (excitedly): I’m getting married!
(Trudy jumps up onto her bed and squeals with delight)
Trudy: I’m getting married today!!!
[The camera fades to black on Trudy’s happy face.]
Scene 2
[Camera fades in from black to show Elissa in the canteen area of the Airport, in her hand is a cloth and she is using it to clean the tables around the room.]
Male VO: Elissa?!
(Elissa stops what she is doing and stands up straight)
Male VO: Behind you Elissa!
(Elissa slowly turns around and is faced by a battered and bruised Blaine)
Elissa: (Squeals) Blaine!!
(Elissa rushes over to Blaine and pulls him into a tight embrace; he wraps his arms around her and holds her close to him.)
(After a moment Elissa pulls away from the embrace and gently touches his bruised face)
Elissa: How did you escape?
Blaine: She let me go... with Lex’s help! God we owe him big time!
Elissa: She was so angry!
Blaine: (whispers) Shhh it’s all over now... we can be together, I’m no longer an Amazon slave!!
(Elissa pushes herself up and kisses Blaine)
Elissa: We’re both free!
[The couple kiss again as the camera pans out and cuts to the next scene]
Scene 3
[Camera cuts to the Amazon base to show Zandra kneeling on the floor in her office holding the small sock; a hand appears from off screen and lightly squeezes her shoulder. Camera pans out to show Lex standing over Zandra]
Lex: (Whispers) It’s time to let go!
Zandra: I don’t know if I can!
Lex: You have to... and I will help you.
(Zandra pushes herself up and wipes her eyes)
Zandra: Now why would you want to help me Lex? I’ve been nothing but a bitch since I’ve come here!
Lex: (smiles) I’m not going to disagree with that, but come on Zandra... I’ve known you since we were kids; I’m going to stick by your side through all of this!
Zandra: (shakes her head) Lex!?
(Lex reaches out again and takes hold of Zandra’s hand)
Lex: This is not me coming on to you; I am here for you as a friend.... nothing more, nothing less!
Zandra: (smiles) Thank you.
[Zandra and Lex share a hug as the camera pans out and cuts to black]
Scene 4
[The camera fades in from the previous scene and we come across Amber, Bray jnr and Rain in their pyjamas, Amber has Rain balanced on her hip and Bray jnr walks by her side holding Sam’s lead.]
Rain: Where are we going mummy?
Amber: For a quick walk outside to get some air... and so Sam can go to the toilet.
Bray: She has to pooh!
(Rain and Bray jnr laugh as Amber pushes open the airport entrance, both Bray jnr and Rain squeal in excitement as they run outside.)
Bray jnr: What is it mummy?
Amber: Snow baby... its snow!
(Amber glances around with a smile on her face as she looks at the airport surroundings that are covered in two or three inches of snow. She watches as Rain makes a snow angel and Bray jnr chases Sam whose short legs keep getting stuck in the snow.)
Bray jnr: Can we play?
Amber: Not in your pyjamas son... we need to get changed!
Rain: I want to play!
Amber: We have a wedding to get ready for. Let’s get ready for that... and then we’ll come and play!
[Both of the kids clap and Amber reaches for their hands as they return to the airport, cold and wet, but excited about the snow that they haven’t seen before, before the camera fades out to the next scene.]
Scene 5
[Slade is in the kitchen area putting the finishing touches to some of the food when Bray walks in, he has a happy smile on his face and Slade looks at him, raising an eyebrow as he does.]
Slade: What’s that smile for?
(Bray smiles and pulls out two bottles of beer, tossing one in Slade’s direction as he does.)
Slade: What’s this for?
Bray: Why don’t we let bygones be bygones once and for all?
Slade (nods): I’ll drink to that!
(Both Slade and Bray open their beers, Slade remains in the kitchen and Bray takes a seat at one of the tables in the cafe area.)
Bray: Come... join me... let the others worry about the food.
Slade: Um, sure... I can spare a couple of minutes.
(Slade takes a seat opposite Bray and the two men sit in awkward silence for a couple of minutes before Bray opens his mouth.)
Bray: I want to apologise again for being an idiot!
Slade: Go on...
Bray: I’ve always been protective of Trudy... we were, well we had a small thing once... but we were both kids, and to be honest I always thought of her more as my sister than anything else. And with being Brady’s uncle, I’ve always felt protective towards her. And I didn’t like the fact that you could be replacing me!
Slade: I like your honesty man... but yeah, let’s leave the past in the past. The fact is, I love Trudy and I can’t wait to start the rest of my life with her!
(Bray holds up his beer.)
Bray: To Trudy!
(Slade clinks his beer with Brays.)
Slade (smiles): To Trudy!
[The two men laugh as the camera fades out on the pair of them and the cuts to the next scene.]
Scene 6
[We open this scene on Ellie and Alice in Alice’s room; the two sisters are having fun dressing Miri in a smart party dress. Ellie finishes buttoning up Miri’s dress and holds her up for Alice to check out.]
Alice: She looks so cute... I know I’m biased because I’m her mother...
Ellie: Yeah, well I’m her aunt and I think she looks cute too! Don’t you sweetie!?
(Ellie tickles Miri under the chin and smiles as her niece laughs and she then hands her back to Alice.)
Ellie: Are you excited that this is her first Christmas?
(Alice takes a deep breath and nods.)
Alice: Yeah... of course.
Ellie: What’s up?
Alice: Um... I can’t help but think at these times, that I’m so sorry that mum and dad aren’t here!
Ellie (nods): I know... Christmas is always a tough time.
Alice: That Christmas... when that police officer came to our door... oh god Ellie that was the worst.
(Ellie nods and then closes her eyes, before she shivers and opens them.)
Ellie: I can’t dwell on the past Al... You have to look to the future. Besides things have a weird way of working things out... if I remember, that very same Christmas was the same one that Tully dumped you... and look, the two of you are together now...
Alice: Yeah, but mum and dad are dead Ellie... they’re not coming back!
Ellie: You don’t have to remind me!
(Ellie and Alice look at each other uneasily for a few minutes before the camera pans to Miri who screams out loud, causing both of the sisters to look at her.)
Alice: I guess someone wants attention!
Ellie: Yeah... I guess so. Were mummy and auntie Ellie ignoring you?
(Miri laughs again and reaches out to grab Ellie’s hair as the three of them laugh.)
Alice: I guess you got your answer!
[Ellie prises her hair away from Miri as the camera cuts to the next scene.]
Scene 7
[Camera cuts to the room which Elissa is using. Blaine rushes into the room dragging Elissa behind him. Once inside the room he starts to collect Elissa’s belongings together and drops them onto the bed]
Blaine: Where’s your bag?
Elissa: (Shakes her head) What are you doing?
Blaine: Elissa! Where is your bag?
Elissa: (Rolls her eyes) Under the bed!
(Blaine drops to the floor and pulls the bag out)
Blaine: Do you really think Zandra is going to let us be together? Come on Elissa... we have to leave!
Elissa: (Panics) Leave the city? Where do we go?
(Blaine crosses over to Elissa and places his hands on her hips)
Blaine: It doesn’t matter where we go, as long as we’re together. We’re from an Amazon tribe we can survive wherever we go!
Elissa: (Smiles) Just the three of us?
Blaine: (Confused) Three of us??
(Elissa takes hold of Blaine’s hands and places them on her stomach)
Elissa: (Nods) Me, you and our baby!
(Blaine face breaks into a smile and he pulls Elissa into a hug and kisses her)
Blaine: (smile fades) We can’t tell anyone, if Zandra ever finds out...
Elissa: She won’t.... we will be too far gone before I even start showing. She will never know the truth!
Blaine: This will work, won’t it?
Elissa: (smile) We were meant to be together Blaine, nothing can break us apart!
[The couple share another kiss as the camera fades out to black]
Scene 8
[The scene opens up on Ryan walking along one of the corridors; he has a determined look on his face and comes to a stop outside Lori’s room. Knocking gently he waits for an answer before he pushes open the door and walks inside. The camera then pans around and we see that Lori is seated by a mirror doing her makeup for the wedding.]
(Looking in the mirror, Lori sees Ryan and smiles weakly.)
Lori: Ryan.
(Ryan smiles back and takes a seat on the bed as Lori turns around to face him.)
Ryan: I think we need to talk about what happened the other night.
Lori: The other night?
Ryan: When you... um, slept with me...
(Lori shakes her head.)
Lori: I didn’t “sleep” with you... I slept in the same bed... that’s all!
Ryan: Do you get where I’m coming from Lori? I’ve just been widowed and a couple of days later I wake up to find her sister in my bed...
Lori: I know...
Ryan: Look I didn’t come to start a fight with you Lori. I came to apologise for the way it came across the other day... I was just in shock. I came to make things right with us. I want you to be a part of Jake’s life... I don’t want there to be any awkwardness between us.
(Lori nods and turns back to the mirror.)
Ryan: Lori?
Lori: What Ryan? What do you want me to say?
Ryan: That you’re okay with this?
Lori: Well I’m not... I don’t appreciate what you’re saying! Or what you’re insinuating!
(Ryan takes a deep breath and stands up.)
Ryan: Look, I came to say what I’ve said. I’ve only ever loved one woman... and that’s Cass. You’ll never be anything more than my sister in law... can you get that through your thick head? Can you?
(Lori gasps as she stands up, promptly slaps Ryan and storms out of her room. The camera then cuts back to Ryan, who puts a hand to his reddening cheek.)
Ryan: Women!
[Ryan walks out of the room as the camera fades out.]
Scene 9
[The camera cuts in from the previous scene to Trudy’s room. Trudy’s purple dress is on a mannequin in from of the Amber and Trudy, as both girls sip some elderberry wine from glasses. The pair of them giggle as Amber goes to remove the dress from the mannequin.]
Trudy: I’m so glad that you’re here Amber... I couldn’t think of anyone else I’d want to be here with me!
Amber: So am I!
(The two girls hug each other briefly before Trudy pulls on her camisole.)
Amber: I can’t believe you’re getting married. It doesn’t seem that long ago that you were arriving at the Mall pregnant and with Bray.
Trudy (laughs): God, the Mall... that was a long time ago!
Amber: I know... three long years ago since we left!
Trudy: And look at what we’ve accomplished since then!
Amber: I found Bray... and got an adopted daughter!
Trudy: And I found Slade... my husband to be! Oh that sounds weird!
Amber: What does?
Trudy: Husband... I’m going to be someone’s wife!
(Amber laughs and holds up Trudy’s dress as she helps her friend with it over the head and pulls it down.)
Amber: This is a beautiful dress Trud... it must have taken you ages to sew?
(Trudy nods as she puts her arms through the sleeves of the dress.)
Trudy: Every night for a month!
Amber: I wouldn’t have the patience to do that...
Trudy: You would... I know you would!
Amber: Yeah well... since I won’t ever be getting married... I don’t need a dress... do I?
(Trudy smiles as Amber finishes buttoning up her dress and she turns to face the mirror.)
Amber (gasps): Oh... you look beautiful!
(Trudy smiles as he looks at herself in the mirror and turns around, the full length purple dress following her as she twirls.)
Trudy: I do... don’t I... I feel like a princess.
Amber: You look like one!
[The two friends hug once again before the camera fades to the next scene.]
Scene 10
[Cutting in from the previous scene, we come to Zandra and Lex who are walking outside in the fresh snow. Zandra stomps through the snow, a sad look on her face as she does.]
Lex: Are you okay?
Zandra: Do I look okay Lex? I’m losing my tribe...
Lex (shakes his head): No you’re not Zan... you’ve just lost a loose cog... Blaine was all talk anyway!
Zandra: I don’t like to lose Lex... not ever!
(Lex raises an eyebrow.)
Lex: Why are you so angry?
Zandra: Excuse me?
Lex: I said... why are you so angry? You never use to be...
Zandra: A lot has happened to me Lex...
Lex: And?
Zandra: I’ve been so angry for so long... since Eagle Mountain... and the baby. I’ve just never found that inner peace that I use to have all those years ago. I guess I grew up feeling rotten inside... and well, if I’m honest... I’ve been angry for so long... I don’t know how to be happy!
(Zandra looks over at Lex, and frowns when she sees he has gone.)
Zandra: Lex?
(Suddenly out of nowhere a snowball hits Zandra on the arm and she turns around.)
Zandra: What are you doing?
Lex (laughs): Having fun... you have to start somewhere!
(Zandra screams and ducks another incoming snowball.)
Zandra: Why you little...
[Zandra grabs a handful of snow and rolls it into a ball, chucking it in Lex’s direction and laughing when it hits him on the head, the camera panning out on the two old friends having fun.]
Scene 11
[Camera fades in from black to show Patsy getting Katy ready for the wedding. The young mum smiles at her daughter, as the small child laughs. Camera pans around and KC walks into the room]
KC: Patsy we need to talk?!
Patsy: (Panics) What’s the matter? What’s wrong?
KC: (shakes his head) Put Katy in her cot!
(Patsy stands up and picks up her daughter)
Patsy: Not until you tell me what’s going on?
(KC closes his eyes and takes a deep breath)
KC: I don’t understand what’s going on between us anymore, you don’t want to talk to me anymore, and you never want to spend time with me anymore...
(KC’s voice starts to crack and tears start to swell up in Patsy’s eyes)
KC: (Cont) I don’t even know if you love me anymore!!
Patsy: I....I...
KC: (shakes his head) See you can’t even give me an answer... is there someone else?
Patsy: WHAT?
KC: I need to know if you’re having an affair Patsy!
(Patsy crosses the room and brings her hand hard across KC’s face)
Patsy: (angry) How dare you!!
Kc: (Pleads) Patsy!
Patsy: (shakes her head) You want to know... then I’ll tell you! I feel trapped and it’s not your fault KC! Two of my closest friends have died, Cloe and Cass... Ryan is leaving the tribe and I don’t know what to do anymore, I never expected to be a mother so young!!
KC: Oh Patsy, I didn’t mean to upset you!
(KC closes the gap between him and Patsy and hugs his partner)
KC: I love you Patsy, you mean the world to me!!
(Camera pans around to show Patsy’s face, a single tear rolls down her face)
Patsy: I love you to!
[Camera pans out before fading to black]
Scene 12
[Camera cuts to the old apartment. Jay is sat on the sofa, a bag is rested on his lap and he has his arms wrapped around it, camera pans around and we see Danni sat by the window, the curtains are drawn shut but every now and then she takes a peep outside]
Danni: (whispers) Jay!
(Jay doesn’t answer)
Danni: (Louder) Jay?
(Jay looks up and stares at Danni like he is seeing her for the first time)
Jay: What do you want?
Danni: Jay what are you going to do?
Jay: Like we planned... I’m going to end Amber and Bray for good!
Danni: (Shakes her head) Jay can we just leave? I don’t like it here... we made a mistake coming back!
Jay: SHUT UP!
(Jay stands up and moves to the other side of the room)
Jay: We’ll leave the city by the end of the day... I promise!
Danni: (looks out of the window) What if it’s too late by then?
Jay: Don’t talk daft Danni!
Danni: (looks up at Jay) I’m scared!!
[Jay shakes his head before leaving the room. Camera cuts to Danni who is looking out of the window again.]
Scene 13
[May walks into shot, a bunch of daisies in her hand as she places them into an empty vase and then onto one of the small tables. She then steps back and turns around to face Alice.]
May: What do you think?
(The camera pans around the room and we see that they have placed dozens of vases of flowers and streamers across the ceiling of the airport lounge, along with a series of solar lights on a white Christmas tree at the end of the room that will serve as an altar.)
Alice (nods): I think... that it looks amazing!
May: All we’re missing is some snow!
Alice: Oh wait... I have the solution to that!
(Alice leaves the room as May looks confused and smiles as she looks around the room and wraps her arms around herself.)
May (to herself): It’s a winter wonderland!
(Alice returns with a couple of cans in her arms, and May frowns.)
May: What’s this?
Alice: Spray on snow... warm and environmentally friendly... and best of all, we don’t end up with a puddle on the floor at the end!
(May laughs and takes a can from Alice as she begins to shake it up.)
May: It does look pretty good... doesn’t it?
Alice: It looks amazing mate! Is this what you want your wedding to look like?
May (nods sadly): Yeah.
Alice: May?
(May looks at Alice and then starts to cry.)
Alice: What on earth is the matter?
May: Oh Alice... I’ve given up hope... I mean, who would want to marry me?
Alice: Oh May... don’t be so stupid... you’ll find someone... someday... trust me!
[May looks at Alice and the two friends hug before starting with the spray on snow and the camera cuts to the next scene.]
Scene 14
[We cut in to show Ryan getting Jake ready in his room, as the camera pans around we see that Lori is standing in the doorway, she knocks and walks in.]
Ryan (frowns): Lori?
(Lori nods and looks straight at Ryan.)
Lori: Look, I wanted to come and say I was sorry about earlier on... I went off the deep end and I didn’t mean to... I wanted to explain that I love having you and Jake in my life... and that I didn’t mean anything by it... it was more about us all being a family.
(Ryan frowns and places Jake on the floor with his toys.)
Ryan: I think I get that Lori. You must understand that there is no room in my life for anything other than friendship.
Lori: I understand.
Ryan: Yes... but can you cope with that?
(Lori looks down at Jake and shakes her head.)
Lori: No... I don’t think I can... and that is why I have come to a decision.
Ryan: About?
Lori: About leaving... with you and Jake. I don’t think it’s such a good idea if I go with you. I think I should stay here... wait for you to return, when you find Kacie.
(Ryan takes a deep breath and looks down at Lori.)
Ryan: I understand if you think that’s for the best.
Lori (nods): I do... and I’ll be here waiting for you, Jake and Kacie to return.
Ryan (smiles): Thank you.
Lori (frowns): For what?
Ryan: For being a kind and thoughtful enough person to put Jake ahead of yourself. There are not a lot of people like that in this world.
Lori: So we’re still friends?
Ryan (nods): Of course... we’re more than that though, we’re family!
[Lori and Ryan hug before Lori walks out of the room, leaving a happy Ryan and Jake behind.]
Scene 15
[Camera cuts to show the breakfast bar which Axel and Darryl have turned into a makeshift bar for the wedding. Axel is busy setting up champagne glasses into a line when he feels a pair of arms wrap around his waist]
Axel: Hey you!
(Camera pans out to show Darryl resting his head on Axel’s shoulder)
Darryl: (Sadly) Hey!
(Axel turns around to face Darryl)
Axel: (Concerned) What’s the matter?
Darryl: Nothing.
Axel: (smiles) Come on tell me!
Darryl: Another Mallrat wedding and...
Axel: We’re still not...?
(Darryl shakes his head)
Axel: (takes hold of Darryl’s hands) I promise, after everyone has had time to rest from Trudy’s and Slade’s wedding we will have ours and it will be amazing!
Darryl: (Smiles) It’d better be!
Axel: I promise!!
[Axel pulls Darryl towards him before they share a kiss. Camera fades to the next scene]
Scene 16
[Ryan holds Jake’s hand as they walk towards Lex’s room. Jake lets go of his father’s hand and runs towards Lex’s room, as Ryan picks up the pace and heads after his son.]
Ryan: Hey, little man... slow down...
(Ryan sweeps up Jake in his arms, and walks into Lex’s room.)
Lex: Oh hey mate...
(Ryan smiles and puts Jake down next to Theo as the two small children play together.)
Lex: Thinking of starting a crèche?
Ryan: Hardly.
Lex: I take it you came for a reason.
Ryan (nods): I wanted to make peace... we’ve been mates for so long... it seems weird that we’re not speaking... especially when I’m leaving!
Lex: Yeah.
(Ryan holds out his hand to Lex, Lex looks down and takes his friend’s hand, before Ryan pulls him into a bear hug. They then break apart, both smiling.)
Ryan: I’m sorry for being so over the top!
Lex: It’s fine... I should have been more understanding! After all I know what you’re going through!
Ryan: I want to put the past in the past... after all, it’s our children that matter right?
(Lex glances at Theo in his play pen and smiles.)
Lex: Yes... children matter... more than anything else. I want to wish you good luck... I hope you find Kacie... I really do!
Ryan: Thanks mate... that means a lot!
[The camera fades out on the repaired relationship before cutting to the next scene.]
Scene 17
[Camera fades in to Jack’s and Ellie’s room. Jack is standing in front of the mirror trying to put on his tribal wedding marks.]
Female VO: Here let me help!
(Camera pans around as Ellie steps on screen, she picks up a thin brush and dips it in the white paint)
Jack: (smiles) Thanks!
Ellie: (Smirks) Hold still then!
(As Ellie works her magic, Jack can’t help but smile)
Jack: Ellie I don’t know if you know this... but I love you!
(Ellie looks up and their eyes meet)
Ellie: I know, but it doesn’t harm saying it every now and then!
(Silence falls over the married couple as Ellie continues to apply the tribal markings to Jack’s face)
Ellie: (Breaks the silence) I’ve made my peace with Alice now, from now on I will let her get on with her life and I will just be her sister and auntie to Miri.
Jack: (Smiles) Brilliant Ellie, I knew you to would make up!
Ellie: (nods) I’ve also been thinking about us, and with a new year just around the corner I couldn’t imaging spending that year without you... Jack I want us to start a family!
(Jack is silent for a moment before he wraps his arms around Ellie and kisses her)
Jack: You have just made me the happiest man alive!
Ellie: I think Slade could give you a run for your money today!
Jack: (smirks) So... when do we start trying?
(Ellie swats Jack)
Ellie: After the wed...
[Ellie is unable to finish what she is saying as Jack starts to kiss and starts to unzip the back of her dress. A moan escapes Ellie as the camera fades out to black]
Scene 18
[Camera fades in from black and we are back in the apartment. Danni is now sat on the counter in the small kitchen; she is staring at the closed door. All of a sudden the door is pushed open causing Danni to jump up and grab a sharp knife. Camera pans around to show Jay standing in the door way pulling his coat on]
Jay: Danni what are you playing at?
Danni: (puts the knife down) I thought....
(Danni shakes her head and takes a step nearer to Jay)
Jay: (Nods) If I go now... we will be able to get out of the city before night falls!
Danni: (whispers) Don’t be too long!
Jay: I’ll try not to be... I don’t plan to stick around!
(Jay pulls Danni towards him and kisses her roughly)
Jay: Get everything packed up and wait here for me!
Danni: Hurry back!
[Jay gives Danni a small smile before he leaves the room and closes the door behind him. Danni holds onto the side of the unit, her whole body is shaking. Camera fades out to black]
Scene 19
[Camera fades in from black to show Bray in his room, he is sat on the edge of his bed, tying his shoes up. Camera pans around and Bray Jnr walks into the room, he is holding a small train and sits himself on the floor staring up at Bray]
Bray: You ok son?
(Bray Jnr is silent for a moment and every now and then moves his lips like he is about to say something)
Bray Jnr: Do you love mummy?
Bray: (nods) Of course I do!
Bray Jnr: Marry her!
(Bray lowers himself on the floor and pulls his son close to him)
Bray: I love your mummy very much and we are happy together, getting married won’t change that!
Bray Jnr: But Aunty Trudy and Uncle Slade?
Bray: Some people feel the need to get married; it’s not something I believe in...
Bray Jnr: (Cuts in) Mummy does!
(Bray falls silent)
Bray: Amber wants to get married?
Bray Jnr: Marry mummy... marry mummy!!
(Bray Jnr breaks into a song as he chants “Marry Mummy” it doesn’t take long before the small boy is unable to stop laughing.)
[Bray hugs his song close to him as he thinks over the thought of marriage. Camera fades out to black]
Scene 20
[Back in Trudy’s room we are now joined by Rain and Brady. Both of the little girls are wearing their bridesmaid dresses and Trudy is standing behind Brady at the dressing table as she pulls Brady’s hair into a French braid.]
Brady: Does it look pretty mummy?
Trudy: It looks beautiful darling...
(Brady smiles and the camera switches around to show Amber and Rain sat on the bed, Amber is lacing up Rain’s boots and she pats Rain on the head when she is finished.)
Amber: All done darling.
Rain: Thank you mummy.
(Amber and Trudy shoot glances at each other.)
Rain: What now?
Amber: I have to get ready now sweetie.
Rain: What are you wearing?
Amber: I have a tribe leader sash.
(Trudy stops plaiting Brady’s hair, and smiles to Rain.)
Trudy: We have a little surprise for you! Rain, why don’t you go and get the box I told you about!
Amber (frowns): What’s going on?
(Trudy smiles as Brady and Rain runoff from the bedroom and return a couple of minutes later with a box, they give the box to Amber who looks at Trudy and frowns.)
Amber: Trudy... what is this?
Trudy: A present... from us to you. Go on... open it!
(Brady and Rain jump with happiness as Amber opens the box and gasps as she pulls out a brand new midnight blue dress.)
Amber: Oh Trudy... is this for me?
Trudy: Yes... we thought your tribe leader sash was boring...
Brady: And you need a new dress!
Rain: I choose the colour!
Amber: It’s beautiful honey... thank you!
(Amber wipes away a few tears from her face and smiles at the others in the room as she slips on the dress. Trudy laces up the corset at the back of the dress and Amber moves to stand in from of the mirror.)
Trudy: You look beautiful!
Amber: We all do!
[The camera cuts to the next scene.]
Scene 21
[Camera cuts to the outside of the airport where a small group of Mallrats have gathered]
Amber: You sure you want to travel in the snow?
(Camera pans around to show Blaine and Elissa standing side by side in thick coats)
Blaine: It’s best that we leave now... we don’t want to hurt Zandra anymore then we already have!
(Camera pans up to show Zandra staring down from an upstairs window)
Elissa: Amber I can’t thank you enough for taking me in!
Amber: Don’t worry about it; I’m sorry we didn’t trust you and we never really got to know either of you!
Blaine: Maybe one day we will return to the city!
(Harley is standing slightly back in the group of Mallrats and Elissa spots him. She pushes past the other Mallrats and pulls him into a hug)
Elissa: (whispers) You’re a special guy Harley, I know deep down in my heart that there is someone out there who will love you for who you are.
Harley: Thank you Elissa.
Elissa: (Pulls away) There is still time for you to come!
Harley: (shakes his head) Thanks but three’s a crowd and all that!
Elissa: (Nods) Take care of yourself.
(Elissa and Blaine bid farewell to the other Mallrats before they start walking away from the airport)
Female VO: Wait!
(Camera pans around and the couple watch as Zandra runs towards them)
Elissa: Zandra!!
(The three of them stand uneasy in the snow)
Zandra: I’m...
Blaine: (shakes his head) We’re sorry; we never meant to hurt you!
Zandra: Don’t! Please don’t!
(Zandra takes Elissa by the arm and pulls her away from Blaine)
Zandra: I couldn’t let you go without saying goodbye.... we’ve been friends for too long!
Elissa: Oh Zandra!
(The two girls hug)
Zandra: (her smile fades) But I can’t be seen to be weak, so because of that reason, you and Blaine can never return to the city! You will both be put to death if you come to my city again!!
Elissa: (nods) Then I hope we get to meet each other again outside of the city!
Zandra: (smiles) Maybe one day!
(Blaine comes up behind and takes hold of Elissa’s hand)
Blaine: Time to go!
Zandra: You look after her Blaine!
Blaine: I promise Zandra!
[Zandra takes a couple of steps back and watches as the couple walk away. Elissa takes one final look behind her and the two old friends share a smile. Camera fades out to black]
Scene 22
[Cutting in from the previous scene, the camera pans around the lounge as we see that most of the Mallrats are gathered for the wedding. Behind a closed curtain, through which Trudy will enter, Slade stands in front of a mirror, trying to flatten his collar that is sticking up.]
Slade: Stupid thing...
Trudy OV: Here... let me!
(Slade jumps when he hears Trudy’s voice and he turns around to face her... his eyes widen as he takes in the full view of Trudy in her wedding dress.)
Slade (whispers): You look beautiful!
(Trudy reaches for the collar and flattens it, her hands running over Slade’s jacket.)
Trudy: So do you!
Slade (frowns): Isn’t it bad luck to see the bride in her dress before the wedding.
Trudy (shakes her head): Those are the old ways! I don’t believe in that crap! Anyway... we’ve made it this far... one walk up an aisle isn’t going to make our marriage doomed!
Slade: I’ll take your word for it! What are you doing here?
Trudy (smiles): I have a present for you!
Slade: But it’s not Christmas yet!
Trudy: It’s an early present!
(Trudy reaches behind her bouquet of flowers and hands Slade a small soft package wrapped in Christmas paper. Slade looks down at the package suspiciously.)
Trudy: Don’t worry... it won’t eat you!
Slade: Okay!
(Slade tears off the paper and takes out a small pair of newly knitted booties. Holding them up, Slade frowns then looks at Trudy, her hand resting on her abdomen as she smiles.)
Slade: Do you mean...?
Trudy (nods): Yes.
Slade: We’re having a baby?
(Trudy nods and looks at Slade.)
Trudy: Are you glad?
Slade: No.
Trudy (frowns): No.
Slade: I’m ecstatic Trudy... not only do I get to marry you... we’ve having a baby!
[Slade picks up Trudy and spins her around as the camera fades out on the scene.]
Scene 23
[Camera cuts back to the apartment, Danni is in the bedroom packing their clothes into a bag when she hears the front door go]
Danni: (Smiles) You’re back already!
(Danni turns around to greet Jay, but is faced by the gas mask tribe)
Danni: Oh god no!
(Danni tries to make a run for it but she is grabbed and she is dragged away from the apartment. One of the Gas Mask members presses his ear piece)
Gas Mask One: We have her... bringing her in now! Unknown: Perfect!
[Camera pans around the now empty apartment before cutting to the next scene]
Scene 24
[We are back once again at the airport lounge, most of the Mallrats are gathered, and Slade has taken his place at the front of the Mallrats, near the altar.]
(The camera pans to the back row as we see KC sitting with Katy in his arms, Ram is standing at the back of the room looking around, and we see his gaze change when he sees Patsy making her way in from the other entrance. Moving swiftly around the room, Ram grabs Patsy’s arm and pulls her out of the lounge into the corridor.)
Patsy (panicked): Ram... what are you doing?
Ram: This!
(Ram presses his lips against Patsy’s, and they kiss for a few moments... Patsy lets out a soft moan before she places her hands against Ram’s chest and pushes him away.)
Patsy (breathlessly): No Ram... I can’t...
(Ram steps away from Patsy.)
Ram: I can’t stand to stay away from you...
Patsy: Ram... we’ve been through this...
Ram: Patsy... I’m falling for you!
(Patsy turns her head away.)
Patsy: I’ve told you Ram... I can’t do this... I have a family... I love KC... Ram: I know you feel something for me... the way we kiss...
(Patsy shakes her head.)
Patsy: No... This has to end. Please, leave me alone!
(Patsy walks out of the corridor and back into the lounge, as she takes her seat next to KC. The camera stays with Ram as he punches a nearby wall.)
Ram: Damnit!
[The camera fades out on a frustrated Ram.]
Scene 25
[The camera fades in from the previous scene, as we pan to the front of the lounge where Amber is waiting by the altar to marry Slade and Trudy, and Slade is standing at the front, wringing his hands nervously. The Book of Love by Peter Gabriel starts to play as the curtain at the back is pulled to the side and the Mallrats stand up and Brady and Rain skip down the aisle, sprinkling flower petals. They are then followed by Bray and Trudy, as the pair walk down the aisle.]

(Bray and Trudy reach Slade, and Bray hands over Trudy’s arm to Slade as he takes a seat at the front of the wedding.)

(Trudy takes hold of Slade’s hand and they turn to face Amber who smiles through her tears at her best friend, as an instrumental piece of the song plays.)
Amber: We’re gathered here today to join Trudy and Slade... both of them have been on an incredible journey to get here. But they’ve both arrived and they’re here to declare their love to one another in front of us all.
(Slade turns to Trudy.)

Slade: Trudy... you’re the one person who has been there when I needed them, the one person that I can call my best friend and soul mate together. (Slade places a ring on Trudy’s finger as she looks up through her tears to him.)

Trudy: Slade... you are the love of my life, you’re the one whose made my life whole again, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you as my family. I love you more than life itself and pledge to show you each and every day how much you mean to me, and how much I love you.
(Trudy places Slade’s wedding ring on his finger and their hands interlace as they turn back to Amber.)
You ought to give me wedding rings
Amber: Finished?
(Slade and Trudy nod.)
Amber: Slade and Trudy have made their vows before us... and it gives me great pleasure to pronounce them man and wife... you may kiss the bride!
[Slade and Trudy kiss each other as the camera pans out on the happy tribe before cutting to the next scene.]
Scene 26
[We fade in from the previous scene, only a couple of minutes later but this time we are panned around so that we can see Bray. His hand is on his neck and as it moves away, we see that he has been fiddling with Amber’s ring that he wears around his neck, taking a deep breath he stands up just as Amber is talking.]
Amber: Can we have a round of applause for the happy couple?
(Amber shoots him a concerned look as the room erupts in cheers and claps, Bray coughs loudly and brings the room to full attention.)
Bray: Congratulations to Slade and Trudy... but before we finish the day I have something I have to say!
Trudy: Bray?
Bray: Sorry... it’ll make sense when I’m done.
Amber: Bray... what the hell are you doing?
(Bray smiles.)
Bray: Something I should have done years ago...
(Bruno Mars – Just the Way You Are starts to play as Bray moves over to Amber.)

(Bray takes hold of Amber’s hand and brings it to his lips, kissing it gently.)

(Amber looks very confused and tries to stop herself from blushing)

(Amber says nothing but nods, with tears running down her face as Bray smiles and picks up Amber, swinging her around.)
Amber: What took you so long?
(Bray looks over at Bray jnr and Rain who are dancing in circles.)
Bray: Let’s just say... I suddenly saw the light!
[Amber and Bray kiss passionately as the Mallrats are left with one married couple, and one engaged at the altar before fading to the next scene.]
Scene 27
[Camera fades in from black to show that the mallrats are preparing for the wedding of Amber and Bray. Camera cuts to the breakfast bar where we find Lori and Zandra both drinking champagne at opposite ends of the bar]
(Apollo spots the two girls, shrugs his shoulders and takes a seat between the two of them)
Apollo: (Smirks) Is this a private party or can anyone join?
Lori: It’s a free world!
Zandra: Do what you want!
(Apollo pulls three shot glasses towards himself and a bottle of vodka towards him)
Apollo: Vodka shots to numb the pain?
(Lori looks up and shrugs before moving closer to Apollo. Zandra watches the two for a moment before joining)
Zandra: What the hell! Today can’t get any worse! Apollo: (Smirks) My kind of girls!!
(Zandra rolls her eyes before taking a shot)
Zandra: In your dreams pretty boy!
Apollo: You wouldn’t say that if you knew my dreams?
Lori: (shakes her head) Gross!
Zandra: (To Lori) Another shot?
Lori: (Smiles) Hit me up!
Apollo: What about me?
(Lori and Zandra share looks before they both laugh)
Apollo: (rolls his eyes) Women!
[Camera pans out as the three of them continue to enjoy shots and all three of them starting to cheer up. Camera cuts to black]
Scene 28
[Camera fades in from black to show Gel wrapped up in a big coat standing outside the burnt out jet plane. A hand appears from off screen and takes hold of hers]
Gel: We’ve been married for six months already, I just can’t believe it!
Phoenix: I know it’s crazy, it feels like we’ve been married for years!
(Phoenix wraps one arm around her neck and she rests her head on his shoulder)
Gel: I’m so glad we had a beach wedding!
Phoenix: (laughs) I don’t think anyone could top our wedding
Gel: A double wedding so out does ours baby!
(Pulls her back)
Phoenix: Come on let’s get inside before we freeze to death!
Gel: (nods) Winter was never my season!!
Phoenix: I would’ve never had guessed!
[The couple share a kiss as they walk towards the airport. Camera fades out to black]
Scene 29
[Camera fades in from black, light feels the screen and Danni is tied to a dentist chair in the middle of the room, very much like how Dreamer was]
Danni: (Screams) What do you want from me?
(Her voice echoes of the wall. A door at the end of the room is opened and a figure steps in, the light is so bright that Danni can’t see who it is and she blinks her eyes several times)
Stranger: Hello Danielle!
(The stranger steps closer and Danni see’s their faces. Danni’s face drains of all colour before she screams out in horror. The stranger starts to laugh before he walks back out of the room)
[The lights are switched off and Danni is plunged into darkness. Camera cuts to the next scene]
Scene 30
[Camera fades in from the previous scene and we see a shot of the outside of the airport as snow falls from the sky. Camera cuts into the main lobby of the airport to show all the Mallrats sat on seats and Bray standing at the makeshift altar with Lex and Bray Jnr standing by his side. Trudy appears from behind the certain and gives Bray and Lex a nod before she rushes up to the altar and takes her place. Camera pans around as Jack presses play on the CD player and JLS song Love you more starts to play]

(The curtain is pulled back and Amber steps out dressed in her new blue dress, decorated with a white shawl and slight veil that Trudy had found. Amber’s hair has been let down and has been curled. Camera pans down to show that Amber is holding Rain’s hand, and the little girl can’t help but beam with happiness)

(As Amber and Rain start to walk down towards the altar, the camera flashes back when Amber firsts meet Bray back in Season one with Dal. The camera then cuts to when Bray appears at the Mall with Trudy)

(More scenes past by and we see them exchange their tokens of love, Bray finding Amber at the Eco camp, Amber finding out she is pregnant, Bray being taking away by the Techno’s. The Mallrats escaping the city and finally Bray and Amber sharing their first kiss after being apart for so many years)

Trudy: (Smiling) We are gathered here again today to celebrate the marriage of Amber and Bray. These two have been through so much and so many people have tried to break them up but have failed...
(Trudy laughs as she thinks back)
Trudy: Even I tried my luck with Bray!
(Camera cuts to Slade who has Brady on his lap and raises an eyebrow at his wife. Camera cuts back to Trudy)
Trudy: (corrects herself) But that’s all in the past...and will stay in the past!
Bray: Trudy!
Trudy: (Laughs) Sorry!
Trudy: But it turns out that even the ocean can’t keep these two apart and their love for one another has grown over the years and they now have a wonderful little family.
(Amber turns to her tribe and smiles but suddenly her smile fades as does Trudy’s)
Amber: (whispers) Jay?
(Camera pans around as do many of the other Mallrats to reveal Jay standing in the doorway of the airport holding a gun pointed at Amber. Jay is silent and the camera cuts to him to show that he is shaking)
Lex: (Calmly) Jay, what are you doing?
(Some of the Mallrats start to stand up as panic enters the room)
Jay: (Screams) Everyone stay where they are!!!!!
Bray: Come on Jay, this isn’t want you want!
Jay: (ignores Bray) Are you marrying him Amber...is that what you’re doing?
Amber: (Nods) Yes, Jay I love Bray!
Jay: (Screams) You’re meant to love me!!!
(His voice echoes through the room and one of the babies start to cry)
Amber: (pleading) Jay please put the gun down!!
(Camera cuts as Lex and Phoenix share looks, Phoenix is sat only a few seats in front of Jay)
Jay: You ruined my life, do you know that Amber?!
(Camera cuts to Jay and he has tears running down his face)
Jay: (Cont) I was never meant to be like this, I was always about building a better future and I thought that we could do it together... then everything went wrong, Ved died, you stopped loving me, Bray Jnr stopped loving me, the tribe hated me and I started to hate myself... NO!
(While Jay has been talking Phoenix has pushed himself up from his chair and made a run for Jay)
(Camera cuts to Jay as he fingers the trigger and a shot is fired. The room echoes with screams and people scrabbling to take cover)
(Camera cuts to show Amber’s dress splattered in blood, her face has drained from colour and her eyes cloud over before rolling to the back of her head)
Trudy (screams): NOOOOOO!
(Camera cuts away from Amber as Jay drops the gun and turns and runs from the scene)
(Camera cuts outside the airport where we see Jay running away from the building. A couple of seconds later Lex, Jack, Apollo and Trudy race after the ex-Mallrat. Abigails song from Doctor Who plays during the rest of the scene)

(Trudy picks up her pace but soon breaks down in tears in the snow while the boys continue to chase Jay. Camera zooms in on Trudy to show that her hands are stained with blood)

(A pair of arms wraps around her and holds her in the snow)
Trudy: Oh God Slade!
Slade: Shhh... I’m here!
Trudy: (Sobs and mumbles) ...can’t be dead!
Slade: I’m sorry Trudy!
Trudy: No... What about Bray Jnr? What about Rain?
(Slade pulls her closer and she continues to cry against him)

[Camera pans out and we see that Lex, Jack and Apollo have stopped their chase and are breathing heavily. Some of the other Mallrats have also come out of the airport and are hugging each other. Camera blurs as it moves over the tribe and then cuts to black and the end credits run over a black screen]
[Camera cuts in from black to show that the main lobby is now empty, chairs have been left turned over and blood stains the floor. A single body lies in front of the altar and a large white sheet has been spread over the body, but who is it? Camera cuts back to black and to the end of The Tribe Season Eight.]
